Journey to Juneteenth
This video, created for the Minnesota Historical Society, delves into the history and legacy of Juneteenth. Collaborating with Francis Sampah, the creative director/editor at Egobee, I combined motion graphics, interviews with community members, and historical media, including photos, videos, and artifacts, into this 7+ minute narrative. As the sole motion designer, I also cracked open my graphic design skills, drawing from the moodboard and script to craft styleframes and graphic assets. These designs were not only integral to the video but also extended to the accompanying landing page, ensuring a cohesive visual experience.
I have a few clips from the spot below, but check out the full video here: https://www.mnhs.org/juneteenth

When given a design challenge, I like to just jot down the first thoughts and visuals that come into my head. From there, I pick out the pieces I think could work, and then dive into styleframes. Once we have a general look decided I will go into rough storyboarding.
